The work is the same; the risk and the paperwork are not. If you hire directly, your company signs the contract and carries everything that comes with Dutch employment law: payroll administration, wage tax filings, continued payment during illness for up to two years, reintegration duties and dismissal rules that are stricter than in most countries. With payrolling those obligations sit with us as the formal employer, and you have a service agreement instead. Direct employment is usually the better choice once you have a stable team and your own Dutch entity to carry it.
