What are our options if a Dutch bank refuses the account?

Beyond Consultancy

A refusal is not the end of the road, and it is more common than most people expect for young companies with foreign owners. First we find out the actual reason, because a rejection based on an incomplete description of activities can often be resolved by refiling properly, while a rejection based on the bank's risk policy for your sector or country will not change. If it is policy, we move to another bank with a different appetite, or to a licensed payment institution that provides a Dutch IBAN so that salaries, VAT payments and customer invoices can run normally.
